Royalton, Philippe Starck’s first property designed to bring back lobby socializing with It’s dramatic polished mahogany and deep blue city block long lobby runway, as been thoroughly reinventedby the design team of Roman and Williams. Inspired by 20th Century Nairobi, they have re-created Royalton's lobby with sophistcation and depth by using warm and sensual textures (velvets, suedes, animal skins and leather) and dusty earth tone colors (midnight blue, elephant grey, cinnamon) which combine effortlessly with the orignal slate flooring. The "Catwalk" or "Runway" has been transformed to make one feel as if they are walking through a timeless woodland path which draws you to a calm, bright and quiety opening or dock (Brassiere 44) The reinvented Brasserie 44, John McDonald’s latest creation, and Bar 44 create an environment that will inspire and awaken the heart of the most hardened of travelers.
