Hotel Overview

Dr. Jonathan Pitney's turn-of-the century home has been lovingly restored into a bed and breakfast with a warm and friendly atmosphere. This home was originally built by Samuel Reed in 1799. Dr. Pitney purchased the colonial-style home in 1833, but when he added on in 1848, the addition was built in an italianate style. Tastefully furnished with period antiques, two bedrooms, the dining room, kitchen and maid quarters are in colonial decor, four bedrooms, and the Graneville room are in a victorian vogue setting, and are all located in the Pitney House. Take a step back into the past as each bedroom includes its own private bath, most with authentic clawfoot tubs. Imagine the picturesque beauty and romance when nestling in front of a cozy fireplace with that special someone in your own private room. The ambiance of a by-gone era has been captured in each room for your relaxation and a rejuvenating stay. Breakfast is a special time. Start your day with a full buffet breakfast served in our colonial dining room consisting of freshly squeezed juices, homemade breads and coffee cakes, entrees ranging from over-stuffed french toast to souffles to hot fruit dishes. In the winter, gather in the grand room for a glass of wine, sparkling cider or a spot of tea and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace while chatting with other guests. Join us at the Pitney House where new guests become old friends...
