Hotel Overview Junipine. The very name sparks visions of towering pine trees, the aroma of burning campfires and the serenade of crickets in the night. In an era where the strains of metropolitan living have become a way of life, it is nice to know that there remains a place where one can escape to an era past ... where the air is as clean as when it was created, where the sounds of nature are no longer forgotten, and when countless stars fill the night skies in a chorus of light. Looking back...1898, the Purtymans built a cabin along Oak Creek. For 100 years this historical landmark has stood the test of time. 1926...The first nine cabins were built, they named these 'rustic' cabins Junipine after a landmark tree, an intertwined juniper and ponderosa pine that had grown together. 1948...Electricity and water came to Junipine cabins. 1984 saw the 12 guest cabins on their last hinges, outhouses and all. Don Woods designed the 50 famed Creekhouses we still refer to as Junipine, 'Your Creekside Retreat'. Tucked into Junipine Resort's lush forest setting are 50 'Creek-houses' ideal for a family getaway, a gathering of friends, or a romantic rendezvous.
